Key Responsibilities
Provide direct care and support to children with EBD, using a trauma-informed and PACE-based approach.
Lead shifts, oversee the running of the home in the absence of more senior staff, and ensure consistency across the team.
Support, coach and model good practice to junior staff on shift.
Contribute to care planning, risk management and behaviour support strategies.
Maintain clear and accurate records including daily logs, incident reports, and safeguarding documentation.
Work closely with external professionals and internal leadership to support the child's progress and wellbeing.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
Level 3 Diploma
in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Previous experience
in a Senior Residential Support Worker (SRSW) or equivalent role.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and EBD support strategies.
A child-centred and emotionally resilient approach to working in a dynamic care environment.
Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and sleep-in shifts.
Desirable:
Full UK Driving Licence (preferred but not essential).
Familiarity with therapeutic approaches such as
PACE
, restorative practices, or attachment-based models.
Experience supporting homes through inspection, development, or transitions.

30 per sleep-in (contracted, not ad hoc)

2pm - 10pm
Sleep-in: 10pm - 8am
Rotas rotate over 7 days and require flexibility. Teamwork and consistency are essential to maintaining stability for the child.
