Senior Training Officer - Technology - Counter Terrorism Policing HQ


Salary:

The starting salary is 53,459, which includes allowances totalling 2,928.


The salary is broken down as 50,531 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale 55,103 Plus, a location allowance of 1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of 1,000.

The Senior Training Officer role will report to and work closely with the Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ) Technology Pillar ICT Training Manager (Band M). The primary focus of this role will be to plan, design, prepare, facilitate, coordinate and deliver a range of comprehensive learning and development detailed end user ICT training packages.


This role is also required to provide interoperable support (when required) to colleagues in the CTPHQ Technology Pillar Training Team focusing on technical and service support programmes specific to 100+ staff in the Customer Service Centre (CSC) (whether that be independently and/or in collaboration with technical subject matter experts or external training providers). This role is not responsible for the line management of any staff, however will be senior in knowledge, skills and experience to the CTPHQ Technology Pillar Training Officer/s.


This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence on a regular basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post.


Occasionally required to travel to other locations nationally. Hybrid working opportunities available.


Key Skills




The post holder must have:


Holds a current, valid, nationally recognised teaching or training qualification (e.g. Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training). Have recent experience of: leading, developing and delivering non-technical and technical training courses/programmes. Skilled in conducting training needs analyses, skills gap analyses, producing training delivery strategies, training evaluation documentation and lessons learned conclusions. Ability to interpret complex technical documentation into training programmes. Strong IT skills and a passion for learning complex modern technology to further their role Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent effective written and verbal communication skills. Able to work with, lead and motivate others and build positive relationships with stakeholders. Effective time management skills, able to work under pressure to tight deadlines. A strong team player with the ability to work under own initiative.
