Freelance SEO Specialist with Content Writing Experience

Are you an SEO specialist with a flair for content? We're looking for a freelance SEO professional to join our team and enhance the performance of our construction, home & garden content through strategic SEO and high-quality writing.

This is a flexible, remote freelance role offering around 10-20 hours per week, with the potential for ongoing work.

What You'll Do

Audit and optimise existing content to improve rankings, structure, and user engagement. Conduct keyword research to identify new opportunities and inform content updates. Implement on-page SEO improvements, including metadata, internal linking, H1/H2 structure, and schema markup. Update outdated content to align with current SEO trends and search intent. Collaborate with content writers or independently rewrite and enhance copy where needed. Support the development of long-term content strategies and editorial calendars.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in SEO strategy and on-page optimisation. Strong understanding of keyword research, search intent, and ranking factors. Confident using SEO tools such as Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar. Excellent written English and editing skills, able to improve and enhance written content effectively. Familiarity with CMS platforms. Ability to work independently, follow briefs, and meet deadlines reliably.

Nice to Have

Experience working within an agency or a fast-paced digital marketing environment. Basic HTML skills and experience implementing SEO changes directly on websites.
