We are looking to recruit a new

Service Manager

to lead our expanding engineering department and oversee the repair, maintenance, inspection, and LOLER compliance of our growing fleet of Access Platforms and vehicles in and around the Essex & London areas.

This is a blended role combining hands-on technical work with office-based management responsibilities. The successful candidate will manage a small team of engineers, ensuring that service, maintenance, and compliance standards are consistently achieved, while also supporting day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:



Oversee and support a team of engineers, providing guidance and leadership. Carry out and manage six-monthly LOLER examinations across the fleet. Ensure all service schedules are completed on Access Platforms, vehicles, and equipment. Manage fault finding, repairs, refurbishments, and pre-delivery inspections. Oversee compliance with LOLER, PUWER, and other industry regulations, supported by the Service Administrator. Handle customer communication, including service quotations, escalated issues, and updates. Maintain accurate service and compliance records to a high standard. Promote good housekeeping to meet Health & Safety requirements and maintain a safe workplace. Support the Service Director with departmental planning and performance monitoring.

Skills & Experience:



Strong technical background in access platforms, cranes, forklifts, vehicles, or similar industries (mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical). Experience in service management or supervisory roles. IPAF CAP qualification preferred. Strong communication and leadership skills. Good working knowledge of IT systems, including Excel. Full UK Driving Licence (required).

Employment Details:



Full-time permanent position. Based at our Billericay depot with occasional site visits during busy periods. Overtime opportunities available. Reporting directly to the Service Director.

Pay: 45,000.00-55,000.00 per year
