Equita Community Living is seeking two experienced and values-driven Service Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality supported living services.
This role requires an individual who can combine strong operational management with a clear commitment to person-centred care. You will oversee multiple services, ensuring regulatory compliance while fostering a culture that promotes independence, dignity, and inclusion for the people we support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight across multiple supported living services, ensuring compliance with CQC, local authority, and ICB standards.
Line manage and develop Service Leads and staff teams, embedding a culture of accountability, reflection, and high-quality practice.
Ensure care planning, risk management, and safeguarding processes are robust, person-centred, and aligned with best practice.
Manage budgets, resources, and staffing arrangements to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable service delivery.
Act as safeguarding lead, maintaining effective reporting systems, audits, and readiness for regulatory inspections.
Build and sustain positive relationships with commissioners, health professionals, and community partners.
Promote inclusion and independence, supporting individuals to achieve personal goals, develop life skills, and participate fully in their communities.
Support new service development and referral transitions, maintaining high standards of quality and continuity of care.
Person Specification
Essential Skills and Experience:
Proven experience as a team leader of manager of supported living or CQC-registered services for adults with learning disabilities, autism, or complex mental health needs.
In-depth knowledge of CQC Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs), safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act (MCA), and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
Demonstrable experience of managing staff performance, professional development, and multi-site operations.
Strong background in supporting individuals with complex needs, including behaviours that challenge and forensic histories.
Excellent organisational, financial, and communication skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with commissioners, families, and multi-disciplinary teams.
Qualifications
Essential
Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care, Social Work, Nursing, or Management
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (Adults' Management pathway), or willingness to work towards this within an agreed timeframe
Evidence of continuing professional development in leadership and social care practice
Desirable/Beneficial
ILM Level 5 or 7 Leadership & Management qualification (or equivalent)
Registered Manager Award (RMA)
Nursing or Social Work registration (NMC/Social Work England)
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) training
Advanced MCA and DoLS training (decision-maker/lead level)
Medication management competency certificate
Mental Health First Aid or equivalent wellbeing-related training
Training in trauma-informed care, forensic support, or autism and learning disability specialisms
Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile)
Coaching or Mentoring qualification to support staff development
