is seeking a committed and compassionate
Team Leader
to join our residential service in
Tottenham
, supporting young people aged 10-17 with emotional and behavioural needs. This is a hands-on leadership role where every shift offers the chance to make a real difference--guiding your team, shaping therapeutic care, and helping young people thrive.
About the Role
As Team Leader, you'll take charge during your shifts--supporting staff, maintaining structure, and ensuring the highest quality of trauma-informed care. You'll lead from the front, combining emotional insight with operational skill to create a safe, nurturing, and empowering home environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesFocused Support for Young People
Build strong, therapeutic relationships through consistent keywork
Encourage routines, learning, and engagement in daily life
Promote emotional wellbeing using trauma-informed approaches
Monitor Placement Plans and Risk Assessments
Support family contact and multi-agency collaboration
Leadership and Team Guidance
Lead 3-4 shifts per week, ensuring consistency and structure
Provide clear handovers and oversee daily task delegation
Supervise, mentor, and support Support Workers and agency staff
Foster a reflective, values-led team culture
Safeguarding and Behaviour Monitoring
Respond effectively to disclosures, incidents, and risk
Lead debriefs after behavioural challenges
Monitor safeguarding concerns (e.g. CSE, absconding, bullying)
Maintain detailed, accurate records and reports
Compliance and Organisation
Manage shift paperwork, medication, hygiene, and logbooks
Audit incidents, keywork sessions, and daily reports
Oversee petty cash and ensure household safety and organisation
Communication and Team Development
Liaise with managers and external professionals effectively
Share updates on young people's progress and needs
Support training and help embed care plans, policies, and procedures
Champion informal learning and promote reflective practice
Operational Duties
Coordinate activities, routines, appointments, and key events
Help plan birthdays, experiences, and therapeutic opportunities
Ensure the smooth, safe, and consistent running of the home
What We're Looking For
Minimum 2 years' experience
in residential childcare or a related setting
Level 3 Diploma
in Residential Childcare (or actively working towards it)
A confident, compassionate leader with a calm and resilient approach
Strong understanding of
trauma-informed practice
and safeguarding
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
A full UK driving licence is preferred
