Job Summary


The Sales and Showoom Support Assistant plays a vital dual role in our established bathroom retail business, ensuring excellent customer experiences whilst providing essential administrative support. This position is key to managing initial customer contact both in our Birmingham showroom and via digital channels, preventing customer wait times and supporting our experienced sales team during peak periods. As Bathroom City embarks on an ambitious three-year growth strategy, this role offers excellent development opportunities across retail operations, e-commerce, and trade sales.

Key Responsibilities


Showroom Customer Service



Welcome visitors promptly, creating positive first impressions of Bathroom City Provide initial guidance on product ranges and showroom layout, ensuring no customer is left unattended Support senior sales staff by managing initial enquiries, allowing them to focus on complex consultations Maintain showroom standards, ensuring displays are presentable and marketing materials stocked Assist with basic product demonstrations and information for customers during busy periods

Sales Administration & Order Processing



Process sales paperwork accurately, ensuring smooth transition from sale to delivery Enter and maintain customer data in our CRM/OMS system with exceptional attention to detail Follow up on quotes, send additional information to prospects, and support the sales pipeline Liaise between showroom sales, warehouse, and delivery teams to provide customers with accurate updates Handle order amendments, special requests, and basic post-sale queries

Digital Customer Support



Manage incoming telephone enquiries professionally, directing calls or resolving basic queries Respond to customer emails and online chat requests promptly Process online orders and marketplace sales (including eBay listings management) Update online order statuses and assist with delivery scheduling Support basic website content updates as required

Cross-Departmental Assistance



Assist the Product Operations Director with administrative tasks and data entry Support social media and review management initiatives Help coordinate trade customer accounts and queries as our trade division develops Participate in team meetings and product knowledge training Contribute to continuous improvement of customer service processes

Essential Requirements



Excellent communication skills with a warm, professional telephone manner Previous retail or customer service experience Confident with technology and ability to learn multiple systems Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail Availability to work retail hours including weekend rotation Professional appearance and presentation

Desirable Qualities



Knowledge of retail sales and consumer goods Experience with CRM systems and order processing Understanding of e-commerce and digital customer service channels Interest in interior design or home improvement

Working Hours



9:00am to 5:30pm, 5 days per week Weekend working is essential on a rota basis.
