Job Description

Barnwell Music is looking for a motivated, punctual and enthusiastic individual to teach singing lessons. This post is for a permanent contract and is term time only, with the option of picking up additional hours over the school holidays if the candidate wishes to.

We are looking for someone who:

is able to plan individualised and engaging lessons has experience in teaching a variety of styles and genres can draw on a range of resources to further students' progress in every lesson is able to build a good rapport with students of all ages and abilities is able to bring new and individual ideas to lessons and to the studio would like to further their experience and skills through additional training and courses has a proven track record of exam results is adaptable is approachable and confident when communicating with parents will assist students in building confidence in all areas of music including technique, aural skills, performance skills, sight-reading has a growth mindset for their lessons and the students they teach will help their students develop and nurture a love of music is comfortable to teach both online and in person lessons is able to teach one to one lessons and group lessons

You will be expected to:

teach good quality, motivating and engaging lessons to people of a variety of ages and of varying skill and ability. Lessons at this studio are adaptable and student-centred

be comfortable teaching both individuals and groups in a variety of genres, drawing on a wealth of resources

assist in the preparation of termly recitals

complete termly reports for each student

be observed once a half term

attend and feed back to the director on student progression at half termly meetings

take an active role in the safeguarding of vulnerable children and adults that attend the studio

adhere to GDPR guidelines when processing customer data

The hourly rate will reflect the qualifications and previous experience of the person that is given this role.

The studio is growing at very fast rate and we have a large list of students waiting for lessons. This means that there can be some flexibility in the days and times we can offer (weekday evenings and weekends).

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 20.00-30.00 per hour
