Job Description

We are looking for a Site Maintenance Support Operative to work for our client based in Newark.
Salary 13.17ph Hours: 7am until 15:00 during training, then 10:00 - 18:00 following successful completion of your probation.
As a Site Support Operative, you will need to make sure the site is well-maintained, clean, and running efficiently. Being integral members of maintenance team, you will work closely with team members, supporting both day-to-day site upkeep and assisting production with key tasks like banksman duties, loading, and unloading deliveries. Rotating weekly between site maintenance and production support, keeping every day varied and engaging.
Your Role Includes:
General Site Upkeep:

• Maintaining plant areas to a high standard of cleanliness
• Performing general site maintenance tasks, including gardening and light repairs
• Keeping company vehicles and plant equipment clean and in good working condition
• Taking ownership of our on-site vehicle consumable stores to ensure we are always stocked up on essential items
• Packaging and disposing of production waste appropriately
• Carrying out road sweeping activities and managing on-site waste disposal
• Sorting, loading and unloading pallets, ensuring damaged pallets are separated from undamaged pallets, ensuring usable pallets are stored properly

Maintenance & Production Support:

• Assisting with the safe loading and unloading of deliveries
• Performing banksman duties to direct vehicle movements safely
• Supporting the maintenance team with tasks as trained
• Communicating effectively with Team Leaders and Management to resolve issues promptly
• Maintaining a strong focus on Health & Safety, ensuring the well-being of yourself and your colleagues

Additional Responsibilities:

• Operating plant equipment, such as forklifts (FLT), mechanical grabs, and loading shovels.
• Supporting the Maintenance Team Leader and Production Team Leader with various tasks
• Flexibility to take on additional duties as needed, ensuring smooth operations across the site
