Site Operations Manager

What you'll be doing:
You will be responsible for our Grangemouth manufacturing site, the site includes indoor/outdoor storage facilities, a timber mill with 13 production lines, 3 timber treatment vessels, and an engineering workshop.
Key responsibilities :
Lead Safety (EHS) and Quality policies across the site, ensuring we meet and exceed those targets as well as meeting compliance targets during audits.
Drive operational excellence by managing KPI's across the site and action plans to close gaps and drive performance forward.
Co-ordinate the activities of the site, to reduce cost , maximise profitability, and provide world class customer service to internal and external customers.
Manage the site inventory team - increase availability and accuracy of our stock holding.
Identify Continuous Improvement projects, leading the necessary changes required to apply all world class processes and exceeding our targets.
Support Site Engineering and Major Projects.
Overall Site Profitability, Plant efficiencies / productivity / stock management.
Sales, margin, and profit analysis of site. Thorough analysis of P&L to meet & exceed budget set as well as driven cost reduction activities.
Management of all site costs including machining overheads, transport and labour costs and actions to reduce costs .
What you'll need to have:
Previous experience in a management role
High level of safety understanding and commitment
Work-place negotiation around change and flexibility
Seeks out opportunities to learn and develop oneself and team and seeks feedback from customers and colleagues.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) - ability to communicate at all levels in an organisation .
Ability to solve problems before they escalate
Strong numerical ability with commercial understanding (margin, profit, etc.)
Excellent presentation skills - ability to present effectively to senior management
Proven ability to utilise resources to achieve results
Proven ability to influence key decision makers to achieve results
Excellent Planning & organisational skills
Budget management experience
Valid UK driving license.
Qualifications
Manufacturing and operational qualifications, such as WCM, Lean, 6Sigma.
Educated to degree level, preferably in an Engineering discipline
Practical and Technical qualifications such IOSH or NEBOSH
Minimum 5 years manufacturing operations experience and knowledge of EHS legislation and practice.
