The Role

To be part of the project team to ensure the safe and quality installation and/or erection of steel frame buildings on construction sites throughout the UK.

Working on your own initiative you will visit each day our construction sites throughout the UK and be required to;

Ensure the highest standards of site safety controlling safe systems of work on site with the support of other team members and supply chain partners.

Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with the contract drawings and specification.

Report on site progress and resources to identify needs with other team members.

Be first point of contact for Client on site and represent our Company.

Resolve remedial works on site with the support of other team members.

Attend internal and external meetings to discuss work in hand.

The Right Person

You will most likely be from a trades background with at least 5 years' experience in the erection and/or site work associated with steel structures on UK construction sites. You may also work in a similar profession work for cladding, or industrial building sub-contracting.

The successful candidate will be safety conscious with a proactive approach to work and a desire to be part of a successful team. You will be a quick thinker with a keen eye for detail, someone who can steer each project through any challenge to deliver success.

Package

This post is key to our future success and consequently carries a competitive salary package including a company car/van, subsistence allowances, pension and a profit related bonus.

Who we are

Compass Engineering is a successful medium sized Structural Steelwork Fabricator servicing the Commercial sector of the UK Construction market. Operating from premises close to junction 38 of the M1 in Barnsley, Compass Engineering carry out the design, manufacture and erection of approximately 50 steel framed structures each year with an annual turnover of around 20 million.
