Job Description


Role Purpose:

This role will provide consultancy and expertise to develop and deliver internal Skills & Development programmes and strategies that enhance technical performance and build organisational capability.

The key to this role is in developing strong relationships with key stakeholders, gaining a deep understanding of their aims and objectives and working with them to co-create impactful capability development solutions.

By being innovative and challenging the norm through disruptive thinking this role will leverage informal, social, digital and formal learning to meet the needs of the client groups.

Key Accountabilities: * Develop and implement a capability development framework to meet the future capability requirements of QinetiQ UK sectors

  • Lead the development and creation of technical skills pathways, including the creation of delivery models to upskill or reskill QinetiQ employees
  • Leveraging the 70:20:10 methodology - utilising blended informal and formal methods of learning to maximise impact, including but not limited to; social learning, creating communities of practice, on the job training, knowledge sharing, action learning, delivering coaching interventions (including team coaching), mentoring, simulations, digital learning, facilitator delivered workshops (face to face and virtual) etc.
  • Develop and implement a strategic approach to the design of Skills & Development interventions to improve technical performance
  • Develop strong relationships internally in order to identify ongoing strategic requirements and deliver fit for purpose development requirements to meet desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal customers to create capability development plans linked to defined business benefits
  • Utilising external partnerships, research and experience, bring innovation and thought leadership to the technical teams and drive development interventions.
  • Working with the UKS&D Manager & Coaching and Leadership Lead to support the design and delivery of any leadership/talent development interventions across QinetiQ
  • Maturing the UK technical competency frameworks to help map skills gaps/development needs and talent requirements
Key Capabilites/Knowledge
  • Have knowledge of the full development cycle including needs analysis, assessment, design and delivery of large scale development interventions and evaluation.
  • Be able to design and deliver a range of blended informal and formal development solutions
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders, acting as a strategic partner on development and performance
  • Proven project and programme management skills
  • Ability to constructively challenge and influence colleagues (where appropriate) to alter solution design or commercial offering.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • You will be an experienced L&D professional who is can evidence working with stakeholders to develop learning solutions.
  • Extensive experience designing and delivering development programmes
  • Experience of managing projects and partnering with senior stakeholders preferably within an Engineering or Technology environment.
