We are seeking an experienced and passionate
Social Care Consultant
to provide strategic guidance, leadership, and oversight across children's residential homes in Greater London.
This role is ideal for a senior professional with deep expertise in residential childcare who is driven to raise standards, embed safeguarding, and support Registered Managers in delivering high-quality, child-focused care. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will play a pivotal role in influencing best practice, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement across services.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure services consistently meet Ofsted standards, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.
Provide professional leadership, coaching, and mentoring to Registered Managers.
Lead on safeguarding, embedding safe, transparent, and accountable practices across all homes.
Guide services through Ofsted inspections, striving for 'Good' and 'Outstanding' outcomes.
Advise on operational effectiveness, including budgets, staffing, and resource management.
Build strong partnerships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies.
Drive staff training, professional development, and performance improvement initiatives.
Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous reflection.
About You
Minimum 3 years' senior leadership or consultancy experience within children's residential care.
NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
Strong knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks, safeguarding legislation, and compliance standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proven track record of influencing practice and improving outcomes for children.
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across Greater London.
