Social Care Consultant - Residential Childcare Services



Location:

Remote, with regular travel across the South (including Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, and surrounding areas)

Salary:

50,000 - 65,000 per annum (including performance bonus)

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced

Responsible Individual

to provide strategic leadership, oversight, and professional guidance across multiple children's residential homes in the South East.

This pivotal role allows you to ensure the highest standards of care, uphold safeguarding excellence, and maintain regulatory compliance--all while empowering Registered Managers and their teams to deliver outstanding outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards. Provide visible leadership, coaching, and professional support to Registered Managers. Oversee safeguarding policies, ensuring safe, accountable, and transparent practice at all levels. Lead homes through Ofsted inspections, aiming for 'Good' or 'Outstanding' outcomes. Manage budgets, staffing, and resources efficiently to maintain operational excellence. Build and sustain strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies. Drive staff development, professional training, and performance management initiatives. Champion a culture of quality, accountability, and child-centred care.
About You

We are looking for a dedicated, proactive leader with:

Minimum 3 years' senior leadership experience in children's residential care. NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards). Excellent knowledge of safeguarding legislation, regulatory frameworks, and Ofsted inspection standards. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience managing compliance, budgets, and staff development. A valid UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the South East. A genuine passion for improving outcomes and making a lasting difference in children's lives.
