Social Care Consultant - Residential Childcare

Remote, with travel across the North West

Salary:

55,000 - 65,000 per year (including bonus)

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

We are seeking an experienced and committed Responsible Individual to provide strategic leadership, oversight, and guidance across multiple children's residential homes in Greater London.

In this senior leadership role, you will uphold high standards of care, strengthen safeguarding practice, ensure regulatory compliance, and support Registered Managers and their teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure full compliance with Ofsted requirements, the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and associated Quality Standards. Provide strong, visible leadership and professional support to Registered Managers. Oversee safeguarding practice and promote a culture of safety, accountability, and transparency. Lead homes through Ofsted inspections with the aim of achieving "Good" or "Outstanding" ratings. Offer expert advice on operational performance, including staffing structures, budgeting, and resource management. Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies. Support staff development, training, and performance management. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and child-centred practice.
About You

Minimum of 3 years' senior leadership or consultancy experience within children's residential care. NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards). In-depth understanding of safeguarding legislation, Ofsted frameworks, and regulatory standards. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to influence practice and improve outcomes for children. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Greater London.
