Location:

Remote, with regular travel across the South East

Salary:

50,000 - 65,000 per annum (including performance bonus)

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Are you an experienced leader with the vision and drive to raise standards, embed safeguarding, and inspire excellence in children's residential care? We're seeking a forward-thinking

Responsible Individual Consultant

to provide strategic leadership, professional guidance, and regulatory oversight across multiple residential children's homes throughout the South East.

This role blends strategic influence with hands-on support, empowering Registered Managers to deliver safe, high-quality, and child-centred care that transforms lives.

Key Responsibilities

Provide consultancy, support, and leadership across several residential children's homes. Ensure homes meet and exceed Ofsted standards and Children's Homes Regulations 2015. Coach and mentor Registered Managers to deliver outstanding child-centred care. Lead safeguarding initiatives and ensure robust, accountable practices are embedded. Prepare and support services through Ofsted inspections, achieving 'Good' or 'Outstanding' outcomes. Promote a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement. Advise on staffing, budgets, and resource management to ensure operational efficiency and sustainability. Build and maintain positive relationships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies. Drive staff development, training, and performance management initiatives.
About You

We're looking for a strong and values-driven leader who can influence practice and champion quality. You'll bring:

A minimum of 3 years' senior leadership experience in children's residential care. NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or commitment to achieve). Excellent knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks, safeguarding legislation, and Quality Standards. Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills. A proven ability to influence practice, drive improvement, and deliver positive outcomes. A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the South East. A genuine passion for improving children's lives and ensuring care always comes first.
