We are seeking an experienced and passionate
Social Care Consultant
to provide expert guidance, oversight, and strategic support across children's residential homes in Greater London.
This is a senior-level consultancy role with a direct influence on service quality and outcomes for children and young people. You will act as a trusted advisor to Registered Managers and leadership teams, ensuring high standards of care, embedding safeguarding, and driving continuous improvement across all services.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure homes meet and exceed Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional consultancy to Registered Managers.
Lead on safeguarding practices, ensuring safe, transparent, and accountable care.
Support services through Ofsted inspections, with the ambition of achieving 'Good' or 'Outstanding'.
Advise on operational efficiency, including staffing models, budgets, and resource management.
Build positive relationships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies.
Support workforce development, training, and performance management.
Promote a culture of reflection, accountability, and learning across services.
About You
At least 3 years' senior leadership or consultancy experience in children's residential care.
NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards).
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted frameworks, and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Proven success in influencing practice and raising service standards.
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across Greater London.
