Location:

Remote, with regular travel across the South East

Salary:

50,000 - 65,000 per annum (including performance bonus)

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Social Care Consultant

to provide strategic oversight, expert guidance, and improvement support across multiple children's residential homes throughout the South East.

This is a senior, high-impact role where your leadership will strengthen safeguarding, embed regulatory compliance, and empower Registered Managers to deliver exceptional outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure homes consistently meet and exceed Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards. Provide expert consultancy, mentoring, and professional support to Registered Managers. Champion safeguarding and embed safe, transparent, and accountable practice throughout all services. Guide services through Ofsted inspections, achieving 'Good' or 'Outstanding' outcomes. Advise on operational effectiveness including staffing structures, budgets, and resource management. Build and maintain strong partnerships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies. Lead on workforce development, training, and performance management to drive high standards. Promote a culture of accountability, reflection, and continuous improvement.
About You

We're looking for a dynamic, experienced leader who is ready to influence practice and drive service excellence. You will bring:

At least 3 years' senior leadership or consultancy experience in children's residential care. NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to achieve). Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted frameworks, and Quality Standards. Excellent leadership, advisory, and communication skills. A proven ability to drive improvement and deliver measurable impact. A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the South East. A genuine commitment to achieving outstanding care and outcomes for children and young people.
