Role Purpose:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the B&Q Marketing team and play a hands-on role in bringing our brand to life on social media. This role plays a key part in helping us connect with customers in creative, relevant and authentic ways -- through both brand-led and community-led content. As our Social Media Executive, you'll help plan, create and schedule content in line with campaign and commercial priorities. You'll also support the coordination of content from a mix of creators -- including influencers, store colleagues and customers -- ensuring everything aligns with our tone of voice and brand standards. You'll work closely with our agencies, internal teams and customer service partners to keep content fresh, spot trends, and help us build a strong, positive presence in our social channels.

Key Responsibilities:



Content Creation & Campaign Activation



Plan, create, and schedule engaging content across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Develop original, on-brand content that blends product storytelling with trends and seasonal moments. Support campaign execution in line with commercial and brand priorities. Collaborate with influencers and creators to brief and approve content aligned with brand tone.

Community & Colleague Engagement



Build relationships with store colleagues to source authentic, community-led content. Curate and quality-check user-generated content (UGC) for repurposing. Support influencer campaigns and connect content with paid media strategies. Monitor and engage with audiences in real time, maintaining brand voice.

Innovation, Insight & Reporting



Stay up to date with platform trends, algorithm changes, and emerging formats. Use social listening and performance data to optimise content and surface insights. Test new formats and creative approaches to boost engagement and reach.

Collaboration & Integration



Work closely with agencies, PR, customer planning, and advertising teams. Contribute social-first ideas to campaign planning. Partner with customer service to ensure timely, on-brand community engagement.

Experience & Skills Required:



Strong interest in social media and creator content. Working knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Creative mindset with an eye for engaging content. Clear communication skills and a collaborative, can-do attitude. Basic understanding of content planning, editing, and scheduling. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Eagerness to learn, experiment, and grow within a fast-paced team.
