As the Social Media Manager, you will take ownership of developing and executing the channel social media strategy across TikTok and Instagram, ensuring alignment with our business objectives. You will lead the social media team, providing direction and collaboration to drive innovative, engaging, and performance driven content. Your role involves overseeing campaigns, analysing performance, and driving new initiatives to stay ahead of trends and enhance our social presence. By managing and optimising our channel strategies, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our social channels remain impactful and aligned with the UNiDAYS vision.
Job requirements
4+ years leading social media for a global B2C brand.
An expert understanding of TikTok and Instagram.
Natural storyteller with a sharp creative eye.
A strong grasp of social advertising, platform capabilities, audience insights, and evolving industry trends.
Experience working with content creators, with a sharp eye for emerging talent.
Validated experience running and optimising campaigns with a data-informed, test-and-learn approach.
Excellent collaboration skills--comfortable working in a cross-functional environment.
Agency management experience.
Fluent in social tools and analytics.
Strong communicator and relationship builder, able to influence and align across teams.
Line management experience - able to manage, develop and mentor team members.
Job responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
+ Define and implement organic social media strategies across key platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) aligned with overall marketing objectives.
+ Conduct thorough audience research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices within the student market.
+ Lead on testing and implementation of new channel initiatives, driving innovation to enhance the social media strategy.
+ Identify and leverage key social media trends and emerging platforms to maximize reach and engagement such as Reddit or country specific channels.
+ Collaborate with internal teams, including the Marketing team, to align social media efforts with broader business objectives and ensure consistent messaging and branding.
+ Stay up-to-date on social media best practices, and algorithm changes.
Content Creation & Execution
+ Identify and work with the team to develop engaging and shareable content (e.g. videos, images, text posts, stories, reels) that resonates with the Gen Z audiences
+ Oversee the day-to-day posting schedule and ensure timely and accurate content delivery across all platforms.
Reporting and Analytics
+ Management of weekly and monthly performance reports, using insights to optimise strategies and improve engagement, visibility, and results
+ Monitor and analyse social media performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, ensure consistent growth, and hitting channel objectives.
Influencer & Agency Management
+ Identify and collaborate with relevant influencers and content creators to amplify brand messages and reach target audiences.
+ Manage relationships with external agencies and freelancers to support social media campaigns.
+ Brief and guide agencies and freelancers on campaign objectives, target audience, and brand guidelines.
+ Oversee the production and delivery of high-quality influencer content.
Community Management
+ Foster a strong and engaged online community by actively participating in relevant conversations and responding to user-generated content.
+ Identify and address potential social media crises and manage brand reputation effectively.
+ Leverage social media to gather customer insights and feedback.
+ Respond to comments and direct messages from followers in a timely and professional manner
Team Leadership
+ Manage, mentor, and guide the team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
+ Provide coaching, training, and growth opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and career progression.
