We're looking for a creative and highly organised Social Media Manager to join our team.
You'll lead on social media strategy, planning, and content across multiple client accounts - owning channel growth, performance, and innovation.
Working across a range of social media channels, you'll lead campaigns and projects, produce engaging content, analyse data, build client relationships, and facilitate customer service. You will be comfortable integrating both organic and paid strategies.
As well as being at the forefront of growing our clients' social media presence, you'll play a central role in developing this area of Sponge's business. There is the opportunity to work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to help grow and ultimately lead the social media business unit.
The role
You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of social media projects, as well as building and maintaining customer relationships to ensure Sponge retains its amazing clients and is set for further growth.
This role will suit somebody proactive and organised, with the ability to interpret client briefs and apply a best-practice approach to social management and campaigns. It's best suited to a strategically minded social media professional, rather than a hands-on content creator.
Responsibilities
Design and deliver creative, insight-led social media strategies and campaigns for our clients that increase engagement and brand awareness;
Manage the day-to-day handling of client social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and TikTok, adapting content to suit different channels and audiences;
Confidently brief and review short-form video content (e.g. Reels, TikTok, Shorts) for clients, with a good understanding of accessibility standards (alt text, captions, inclusive design);
Brief our design team and creative studio on asset creation and campaign development;
Regularly liaise with clients, influencers, videographers, and other partners, building strong and productive relationships;
Manage and track campaign budgets, ensuring efficient use of spend and clear performance reporting;
Analyse campaign performance using relevant tools, translating data into actionable insights and recommendations;
Manage influencer and creator collaborations;
Undertake audits, audience research and analysis of competitor activity to inform planning;
Manage and facilitate social media communities by responding to posts and developing conversations
Monitor, track, analyse, and report on performance using the latest tools and techniques to recommend improvements; and
Identify consumer and content trends to inform future campaign planning.
Requirements and skills
A minimum of three years' relevant experience;
Proven track record of meeting client requirements and delivering projects on time and to budget;
A solid understanding of all social media platforms for both B2B and B2C campaigns and content;
Experience with both paid and organic social media, including Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, or LinkedIn Campaign Manager;
Strong copywriting and editing skills suitable for differing platforms;
An aptitude for content creation and visual storytelling;
Creative skills for contributing new and innovative ideas;
Strong analytical skills, with confidence using data to inform strategy and demonstrate results;
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, comfortable presenting and pitching to clients;
Outstanding organisation and the ability to prioritise tasks;
A keen eye for detail and a calm approach when under pressure;
The ability to solve problems and think creatively, coupled with the passion and drive to deliver great work;
Experience using scheduling tools and reporting software such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, or native schedulers;
An understanding of how commercial businesses operate; and
Comfortable working in a Mac environment.

Working arrangements
This is a full-time contract for a fixed term of 6-months. Sponge staff currently work flexibly between home (three days) and the office (two days).
The role will be full-time in the office for the first four weeks. For the remainder of the probation period, the successful candidate will need to be in the office for a minimum of two days per week.
