Thank you for your interest in the position of Social Work Assistant within Older People Social Work Service, which is part of Fife Health and Social Care Partnership. Amongst the larger Health and Social Care Partnerships in Scotland, we deliver a significant range of delegated services for a population of around 370,000 across the Kingdom of Fife.

Due to recent investment in social work in Fife, our Social Work Service is looking to appoint Social Work Assistants to make a difference to outcomes for people in Fife who use our services.


The primary focus will be undertaking carer assessments. This 36-hour post is based within Burgh Chambers, Buckhaven where you will travel to meet with carers, understand what matters to them, and work in partnership with them to develop support plans which will make a real difference to their lives. As well as working on your own, you will be part of a supportive team which includes registered social workers.

A relevant qualification such as SVQ 3/HNC or equivalent is desirable.


Experience of community based support and multi-disciplinary working with a range of Health and Social care agencies and/or the Voluntary sector would be desirable. The ability to travel throughout Fife is a requirement.


Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
