Student Engagement exists to facilitate the social development of students though the provision of services, programmes and opportunities for all our members. Within the Student Engagement Directorate is Student Communities, Academic Advice, Advocacy and Student Voice, Peer Support and Training and Development.
The Student Communities Team exists to facilitate exceptional student experiences by providing services, programmes, and opportunities for all our members. The Student Groups include; Societies, Action (volunteering), Rag (fundraising), Media, Welfare Associations, Athletics Union.
The Societies and Clubs Coordinator role is to support the development of Societies, promote student engagement with a focus on recruitment to student groups, promoting student led events, ensuring the appropriate training is delivered to student volunteers, and supporting the development of students to help maximise their potential. The Societies and Clubs Coordinator will also support social activities with the Athletics Union.
You'll play a key role in coordinating and enhancing student-led activities across Societies and the Athletics Union. You'll lead on volunteer recruitment, oversee the planning and delivery of training for student leaders and volunteers, and collaborate with the Training Academy to support their development. This role is all about empowering students to shape their university experience while working closely with teams across the Directorate to ensure inclusive, impactful, and engaging opportunities for all. This role is contracted for 35 hours per week, typically Monday - Friday. Flexibility is essential, with shifts scheduled to meet business needs - including early morning and late evenings.
During busy periods, we work to tight deadlines, requiring a flexible and accommodating approach. This may include working outside traditional hours, including weekends.
The position is offered on LSU Scale 7, currently 28,511 - 31,105 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) on an open-ended basis. Offers will be made at a pay point appropriate to the skill and experience of the successful candidate.
