Software Engineer - Cash Management & Payments Platform
Location: Edinburgh

Hours: Full \xe2\x80\x93 time

Working Pattern: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

Annual Base Salatu: \xc2\xa366,861 - \xc2\xa374,290

plus, annual personal bonus, up to 15% employer pension contribution, 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays. Our Team

Our Cash Management & Payments Platform, GEM & Payment Direct Channels Lab teams aim to deliver the highest quality software whilst continually challenging, motivating, mentoring and supporting colleague development. This is a software engineering level role within the Lab that will blend deep domain / technical expertise with great passion for mentoring and developing software\xe2\x80\x99s in delivering technical solutions to become the bank of the future.

What will I do?

You\'ll collaborate with Product and other Engineering teams, driving efforts to create, build, support and improve our software. As a Developer within the Lab, you\'ll champion quality engineering practices that align with Architectural and Group Transformation strategies.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll be responsible for supporting the infrastructure that underpins the application in both development and production environments. You will be a good problem solver, a focused and dedicated developer with the ability to work on your own as well as within a team.

What do we need from you?

In order to be considered, we would expect applicants to have all the following skills / experience:

DBA

Essential

  • Operating system experience in Linux.
  • Oracle management tools (Data Guard, RMAN, Data pump).
  • Good problem solver, focused and dedicated developer with ability to work on your own as well as with a team.
Desirable
  • Strong practical experience of ORACLE in a production RAC (ASM) environment (12c and 19c).
  • Experience in creating a reliable backup strategy.
WAS

Essential
  • Installation, implementation, upgrade, performance, security, patching and monitoring of WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment (WAS ND) environments.
  • Maximizing availability and performance for all WASND, WAS Liberty and IBM HTTP Server
  • Experience on WebSphere Application Server Clustering (Horizontal & Vertical) for High Availability
Desirable
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of data sources, JMS etc.
  • Analysing heap dump, thread dump, high CPU utilization.
  • Understanding of J2EE standards, JDBC configuration, JNDI Directory Services, SOAP and Webservices.
  • Knowledge of SIBus and connectivity to MQ
