Office-Based Solar PV Technical Support Engineer
to help us lead the way.
What You'll Be Doing
In this pivotal role, you'll:
Design & Specify Systems:
Use tools like OpenSolar and PVSOL to create detailed solar PV system designs, including single-line diagrams, shading analyses, and equipment layouts.
Provide Technical Support:
Offer expert advice and troubleshooting assistance to internal teams, installers, and customers regarding solar PV systems, inverters, battery storage solutions, and related components.
Prepare Documentation:
Develop comprehensive technical documents, including system specifications, installation guidelines, and maintenance procedures.
Ensure Quality Assurance:
Review and approve system designs to ensure compliance with UK regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Collaborate Across Teams:
Work closely with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who:
Has a degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
Brings at least 1 year of experience in a technical support or design role within the solar PV industry.
Is proficient in solar design software and has a strong understanding of solar PV system components and configurations.
Is familiar with UK electrical standards (18th Edition) and solar PV regulations.
Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
Demonstrates strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Desirable Skills & Experience
While not essential, the following would be advantageous:
Certifications such as City & Guilds 2394/2395 Test & Inspection.
Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience in managing or coordinating solar PV projects from inception to completion.
A demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service and support.
