Job Description

Terrells Solicitors a well-established and progressive legal practice based in Peterborough, is seeking to expand its team with the appointment of experienced and dedicated Solicitors in the following specialist areas: Family Law, Children Law, and Criminal Law.

About the Role

We invite applications from qualified solicitors with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Family Law

: Advising and representing clients in matters including divorce, financial settlements, cohabitation disputes, prenuptial agreements, and domestic abuse.

Children Law

: Handling cases relating to child arrangement orders, care proceedings, adoption, special guardianship, and parental responsibility issues.

Crime

: Defending and representing clients in all aspects of criminal law, including police station attendance, Magistrates' Court, and Crown Court hearings.
Successful candidates will manage their own caseloads, provide high-quality client care, and represent clients at court as necessary. The role may involve both privately funded and publicly funded (Legal Aid) matters.

Candidate Requirements

Qualified Solicitor with a current Practising Certificate in England and Wales. Demonstrated experience in the relevant area of law. Strong advocacy, negotiation, and case management skills. Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage a full caseload with minimal supervision. Panel membership (e.g. Law Society Children Panel, Duty Solicitor Scheme) is desirable for Children and Crime roles. Commitment to maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards.
