Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare a variety of baked goods such as bread, rolls, croissants and scones

- Follow recipes and instructions to accurately measure and mix ingredients

- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure proper cooking and desired results

- Prepare and present baked goods in an appealing and attractive manner

- Ensure all products meet quality and freshness standards

- Take inventory of ingredients and supplies and place orders accordingly

- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to food safety guidelines

- Train and mentor new employees on baking techniques and procedures

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 1 year experience as a baker in a professional bakery

- Knowledge of different baking techniques and methods

- Ability to read and follow recipes accurately

- Creative mindset with the ability to develop new and unique baked goods

- Strong attention to detail and time management skills

- Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills

- Must be able to lift and carry heavy items and stand for long periods of time

- Food safety certification is preferred but not required

Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely production and delivery of baked goods. Experiment with new recipes and techniques to enhance the menu offerings. Conduct regular quality checks on baked items to ensure they meet the establishment's standards.

Experience

Previous experience in a bakery or restaurant environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of food production processes and culinary techniques. Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is essential. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
