Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and preparation. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to foster a collaborative team environment. Develop and design innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to guest preferences. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with safety regulations and quality standards. Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and minimising waste to maintain cost efficiency. Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery during peak times.

Skills

Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team. In-depth knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Excellent cooking skills with a flair for creativity in menu planning and presentation. Solid understanding of kitchen operations, including inventory management and cost control. Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and service. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.
