Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate South Indian Chef with experience cooking south Indian food including idli, dosas and other dishes to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation and production, ensuring that high standards of quality and presentation are maintained. This role requires a strong understanding of kitchen operations, a commitment to hospitality, and the ability to lead by example.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of Indian meals according to established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as necessary. Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely service during peak hours. Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and kitchen procedures. Support the team in daily operations, including managing kitchen schedules and delegating tasks.

Requirements

Proven experience as a chef within a restaurant or hospitality environment. Strong knowledge and experience of preparing Indian Food. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration. A passion for food production and an eagerness to learn new culinary skills. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and safety standards is essential.
