We manufacture high quality bespoke timber doorsets and associated products to the construction industry covering the UK and beyond. We are based in Ormskirk and have been established for over 30 years. We supply to a number of market sectors including education, healthcare, mental health, commercial and residential.
The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sprayer to join our manufacturing team, specialising in the finishing of timber components including internal doors, door frames, and associated products. The successful candidate will be responsible for the application of finishes such as stains, paints, and lacquers, ensuring a high-quality standard is maintained throughout the finishing process. In addition, the role will involve other finishing duties such as sanding, surface preparation, and general support within the finishing department.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply a variety of finishes to timber products including:
Staining
Priming
Painting
Lacquering (using spray equipment)
Operate and maintain spray booth and spray equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation.
Prepare surfaces by sanding, filling, and cleaning to achieve an even and smooth finish.
Check and match colours and finishes according to production requirements and customer specifications.
Inspect finished components for quality and consistency, ensuring a flawless surface.
Handle and store materials and chemicals in accordance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
Assist with other finishing tasks such as hand sanding, edge finishing, or touch-ups as required.
Communicate any issues or defects to the Production Supervisor promptly.
Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety, quality, and environmental policies.
Experience and Skills Required:
Proven experience in a similar spraying or finishing role within a timber or joinery manufacturing environment.
Competent in the use of HVLP and airless spray equipment.
Strong knowledge of timber finishing techniques, including staining, painting, and lacquering.
Good eye for detail with a strong focus on quality and finish.
Ability to follow technical specifications and job instructions accurately.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
Familiarity with COSHH regulations and safe handling of chemicals.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good time management and organisational skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Wood Occupations, Furniture Production, or similar (desirable but not essential)
Forklift or spray booth operation training
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Manual handling of doors and frames (some lifting required).
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
