Job Advert: Experienced Structural Steel Erector

We are a well-established steel erection and mobile crane hire company seeking experienced structural steel erectors to join our team. Based in Kirkcaldy, Fife, you will be an integral part of a 3-4 person team, responsible for erecting (and dismantling) hot-rolled steel structures, as well as working with associated cold-rolled and anti-sag systems.

Position Details:

Full-time 39-hour contract Travel and overtime outside of the contracted hours is essential
Requirements:

Previous experience as a Steel Erector Ability to work as part of a team Proficiency in MEWP inspections and operations (Cherry Picker, Scissor Lift) for working at heights Knowledge and experience in safe and competent lifting operations with equipment such as Mobile Crane and Telehandler (Forklift) Ability to assemble and erect steel frames and structures according to plans Secure steel components using bolts and tighten to specification Familiarity with fitting techniques, especially when dealing with alignment of fixing holes Confident use of hand tools including spanners, ratchets, and hammers

Additional Information:

A 3/4 impact gun will be provided, but candidates must supply their own erecting hand tools (spanners, ratchets, etc.). Minimum requirements include structural steel erecting experience, CSCS or VQ in Steel Erecting, IPAF or CPCS certification related to MEWP operations (Cherry Picker & Scissor Lift), Slinger Signaller certification (or covered by Steel Erecting Qual) through NPORS or CPCS, and the ability to work safely and competently at heights (Working at Heights training is advantageous). A valid driving license is required.
Note: Candidates should be local to KY2 6QS due to early start times at our yard in the mornings. Our projects are located across Scotland, and occasional travel and overnight stays may be necessary.

At times, our structural steel erecting and contract lifting services may combine, resulting in a requirement to perform slinger signaller duties outwith the steel erecting role. Our contract lifting work varies from lifting vessles to timber roof trusses.
