The Role and Team

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for managing stock with a value of Circa \xc2\xa36m in our warehouse, which operates at -24 degrees.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll directly manage a team of Stock Control Administrators and Warehouse Operatives.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll need to have operational oversight on the immediate future as well as planning for future seasons and projected growth- of product lines and customer volumes.

Analytical, organisational and collaborative skills are key for your success in this role as you navigate the challenges of managing goods into, through, and out of the warehouse space to meet strict deadlines.

Working with colleagues in purchasing, goods in and dispatch will be key so effective communication and team working are also really important.

You will have responsibility for data analysis and execution of inventory control to ensure the company maximises stock & system accuracy, facilitates operational efficiency of our warehouse whilst minimising the cost of stock holding.

Core Hours 08.30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, however, some flexibility may be required to ensure operational success, such as occasional evening work. This role pays \xc2\xa338,000 per annum, plus competitive bonus and company benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct and develop your team in order to ensure engagement and motivation so that the business plan can be achieved and individual\xe2\x80\x99s potential maximised
  • Develop the company\xe2\x80\x99s inventory management strategy, analysing and reporting variance, investigating variances, rationalising inventory and maximising pick availability
  • Work to budgeted productivity, human resource planning, quality standards, and all HR matters of the team
  • Ensure availability service level and promote efficient inventory practices in the warehouse
  • Manage the Controllers and operational team with regard counts required, 5 day cover, mixed & VP pallets to be processed and damages to be cleared.
  • Reporting on chamber levels for current and available capacity and develop strategies to manage future requirements and minimise storage costs
  • Ensure stock control activities are well organised, measured and compliant with audit requirements.
  • Manage, plan and execute in a timely and efficient manner all changes to the product range (incoming and delists) the impact this has on the storage, picking and replenishment operation. Work with the business Range Managers to achieve this.
  • Build an effective relationship with Brakes our only customer for a \xc2\xa310m food service business unit. Schedule deliveries for Brakes & complete related stock movements, acting as a single point of contact for their logistic operation and ensuring we remain compliant with maintaining our service level obligations.
  • Manage & control perpetual inventory stock counting/ inventory accuracy checks. Investigate any stock variances and maintain accurate stock records.
  • Ensure stock is stored with quality at the forefront of decisions.
  • Collaborate with Finance to reduce the value of stock variances to target levels
  • Live and promote best practice and compliance standards in all aspects of stock management.
  • Develop and maintain the optimum warehouse layout and products locations
  • Empty storage location checks in store to find miss-located pallets of stock
  • Scheduling direct deliveries loads to maximise resources
  • Ensure incoming product is receipted correctly and managed according to company procedure.
  • Plan availability of variety packs and mixed packs
  • Manage release process and recall for all products
  • Arrange and monitor timely dispatch of samples for testing to allow stock release
  • Collaborate with Customer Relations/Customer Service following complaints or queries.
  • Manage the collection, processing and return to stock of damaged items
Qualifications

Essential:
  • Qualified to degree level qualification or with equivalent experience
  • Possess excellent IT skills - Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc
  • Excellent understanding of stock control principles and warehouse operations (replenishment and order picking)
  • Possess excellent analytical skills
  • Previous experience working with SAP WM or other similar WMS
