Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mason to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heritage masonry and be proficient in using various tools and techniques to construct, repair, and maintain structures made of sandstone and brick. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work collaboratively on construction sites.

Responsibilities

Construct and repair sandstone structures across the estate Repair and repointing of sandstone ashlar masonry, including tight 2mm ashlar joints Indent and dowelled repairs of heritage sandstone assets New construction of balustrade and capping rails Liaising with stone manufacturers for replacement and new construction items Maintenance and cleaning of existing stone assets Repair of stone and brick walling Lay out work according to drawings and specifications. Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively. Assist in roofing projects as needed, demonstrating versatility in skills. Weld components when required for specific masonry projects. Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople on site to ensure project completion. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols.

Qualifications

Proven experience in masonry or a related field is essential. Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to masonry work. Familiarity with stone and bricklaying techniques and materials. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Strong physical fitness to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy materials. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. A valid driver's licence and own reliable transort

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 16.00-19.00 per hour
