This role involves supervising junior fee earners and ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency (LAA) requirements and professional standards, while managing your own caseload of family matters.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a varied caseload of family law matters, including public and/or private children law cases, divorce, domestic abuse, and financial proceedings.
Supervise and support junior solicitors, paralegals, and trainees in the department.
Ensure compliance with Legal Aid contract requirements, file reviews, and quality standards.
Maintain high standards of client care and professional conduct.
Liaise with external organisations including courts, counsel, and local authorities.
Contribute to the strategic development of the department and provide training where required.
Ensure timely billing and file closure in line with LAA guidelines.
Requirements
Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with a minimum of 3 years' PQE in Family Law.

Proven experience in handling Legal Aid family law cases.
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience (desirable but not essential).
Strong organisational, communication, and time-management skills.
