Our West End office is a market leading media specialist office, and we are passionate about the sector. We work with entrepreneurial businesses from individuals, to start ups and large international groups, including a number of household names. Our clients are from all areas of the media industry, including media tech, advertising agencies, theatre, and tv and film production companies. Our West End team consists of 11 partners and around 150 people working in audit, accounting, business advisory, tax and corporate finance, and we all work together to provide our clients with a rounded service to support them at every stage of their business lifecycle.



Our West End office is growing and as a result we are looking for supervisors to join our general practice media team.

This role will be audit focused while getting exposure to wider business advisory work. This role includes:Carrying out audit / accounts and related tax assignments for clients Involvement in planning, supervising, and carrying out full end to end audits Take responsibility for achieving agreed budgets and meeting deadlines Setting objectives for more junior staff and supervise on site, reviewing their work and
coaching on the job where necessary

Key Responsibilities





Responsible for auditing of media companies including planning, and finalisation of jobs. Delivery of a complete audit file for manager review. Supervision of the fieldwork of the audit team, on site as required, which includes reviewing the work of juniors and assisting junior team members with technical accounting and audit questions. Delivery of work carried out under the primary accounting frameworks (UK GAAP, FRS 101, FRS 102 and IFRS). Drafting recommendations to management for improvements to internal controls following audit fieldwork completion. Drafting of close out audit meeting agenda and points for discussion. Preparation of tax computations and Corporation Tax returns (CT600) using tax software. Preparation of statutory accounts of companies, and consolidated accounts of groups, partnerships, and LLP's together with tax computations under FRS102 and IFRS requirements from client draft figures. Close liaison with clients, and other stakeholders, often direct contact at Partner and Director Levels. Motivation and encouragement of team. Promoting the interests of the firm with all employed by the firm, clients, prospective clients and other third parties. Generally, to provide a personal, professional, speedy and efficient service to the firm's clients. Assisting with internal training courses. Any other special work as required e.g., company valuations, HMRC investigations & proposal pitches. Working alongside current office management
to assist and supervise junior team members.

Practice Development

To attend client gatherings or client seminars on an ad hoc basis. Identifying business development opportunities with clients and progressing these in liaison with Partner/Director. Internal networking so to get to know your team and the wider firm including specialist services.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise





Qualified to ACA/ACCA or internationally recognised chartered accounting qualification Experience leading audit teams including group
audits
Experience of substantive and controls based
audit testing
Technically competent, including solid experience and understanding of UK GAAP and Auditing Standards High level of personal motivation and initiative. Excellent communicator able to get on with clients and motivate your team Strong organisational skills, ability to multitask and prioritise work Personable and confident clients should feel confident of their ability to relate to them Ability to meet deadlines
