Job Purpose:
As a Support Worker at Thrive Leaving Care, you will play a vital role in supporting care-experienced young people aged 16-18 living in a 6-bed semi-independent flat. You will help young people build the skills, confidence, and emotional resilience they need to thrive in adulthood. The role is focused on developing positive relationships, encouraging independence, setting consistent boundaries, and working in line with each young person's Local Authority Pathway Plan.
This is a hands-on role where every day is different--you might be supporting with cooking, attending appointments, offering advice, or helping someone through a difficult moment. You will need to be patient, caring, and calm under pressure. Lone working may be required, so you must be confident in working independently while following policies, safeguarding procedures, and professional guidance. Your care, consistency and presence can make a lasting impact on a young person's life.
Key Responsibilities:
Offer warm, consistent, and caring support to young people aged 16-18
Support young people with daily tasks including budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and appointments

Work collaboratively with families, social workers, and external agencies
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment
Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts
