Do you feel passionately about supporting people in your community who are experiencing poor mental health? Would you like to work within an organisation where employees consistently report feeling valued and supported?

No Previous Experience Needed

: Full training provided!

About the role

This role is integral to what we do, and will see you working as part of the dedicated team at our CQC Registered Residential Home in central Tunbridge Wells. Our homes provide a safe and nurturing environment to people who have, or are recovering from mental health issues.

You

will not

typically be required to provide any 'personal care' to our residents. Instead, this role involves working with and supporting individuals with the aim of maximising their independence, integrating them into the community, and helping them to achieve a higher quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting in the planning, implementation and evaluation of residents' individual support programmes. Undertaking or assisting in the preparation of meals, shopping, cleaning, and laundry according to the needs of individuals. Developing and participating in recreational activities within and outside the house. Developing relationships with residents on a professional basis by providing them with practical, emotional, and social support. Developing and maintaining good relations with residents' relatives, friends and others involved in their lives and their care. Assessing, advising and supporting residents in their dealings with outside agencies. Assisting with some support in the community for certain residents who have moved on to live more independently.

Who Do We Need

We are looking for a caring and compassionate individual to join our team on a permanent basis.

The role is full time, working 37.5 hours per week on a shift rota basis.

As our home provides support 24/7, you

must

be able to work some out-of-hours shifts each week, such as early/late shifts, weekends or nights (our nights are sleeping-in shifts).

Essential Requirements:

Positive attitude towards people experiencing mental health difficulties. Excellent communication skills and basic IT proficiency. Full driving license (for transporting residents in company vehicles).

Desirable:

Training or experience in mental health support or a Level 2 qualification in social care. Willingness and ability to complete necessary training if not already qualified.

Personal Attributes:

Supportive team player with confidence to share ideas and work creatively. Ability to encourage and empower residents to make their own decisions.

Rewards and Benefits

Competitive Salary

: 26,385 per annum, with potential for an additional 3,000+ per year in shift allowances. Annual salary review.

Generous Leave

: 28 days paid annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing annually up to 33 days.

Pension

: Company pension scheme starting from month three, with increasing employer contributions after the first year.

: Includes health insurance (for you and qualifying family members), Blue Light discount card, and company sick pay (after probation).

Employee Development

: Wide range of fully funded in-house and external training options.

Convenience
