Young People's Background
Our young people come from a variety of backgrounds and may have experienced
family breakdown, trauma, neglect, or time in care
. Some may present with
emotional and behavioural difficulties, low self-esteem, or mild mental health needs
.
Support Workers play an important role in helping them build resilience, develop coping strategies, and make positive choices for their future. You will work with each young person in a
person-centred, trauma-informed, and safeguarding-focused
manner, ensuring their individual needs are met and their voices are heard.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day care and support to young people in line with their individual support plans.
Develop, review, and maintain
risk assessments
and
support plans
tailored to each young person's needs.
Conduct regular
key working sessions
to support young people in achieving their goals.
Complete accurate and timely
monthly reports, daily logs, and incident records
in line with Ofsted and company requirements.
Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people
, ensuring all concerns are reported and recorded in accordance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
Promote the emotional, physical, and social development of each young person.
Support young people with daily living skills such as cooking, budgeting, education, and employment.
Build positive, professional relationships with young people, colleagues, and external professionals.
Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training and development.
Shift Patterns
Applicants must be flexible to work a variety of shifts, including:
Evening shifts:
18:00 - 22:00
Day shifts:
09:00 - 14:00 / 14:00 - 22:00
Sleep-in shifts:
22:00 - 09:00
Weekends and bank holidays
as required
Essential Requirements
Minimum
Level 3 Diploma
in
Children and Young People's Workforce
(or equivalent qualification).
Experience working with young people in a residential or supported living setting.
Understanding of the needs of
care-experienced or vulnerable young people
.
Strong understanding of
safeguarding procedures
and the ability to recognise and respond to concerns appropriately.
Ability to complete and maintain
risk assessments, support plans, key working notes, and reports
to a high standard.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
Flexibility to work a range of shifts and across multiple sites in
Hayes, Greenford, and Hounslow
.
