We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a vital role in creating high-quality dishes that delight our customers while ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
Responsibilities
Prepare and present sushi dishes in accordance with the restaurant's standards.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality for meal preparation.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi recipes and presentations.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
Provide exceptional service by engaging with customers when needed, sharing knowledge about sushi dishes.
Requirements
Proven experience in a kitchen environment.
Strong culinary skills with a focus on sushi preparation and presentation.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
