Responsibilities
Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes in accordance with restaurant standards.
Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet customer demand.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and sushi preparation area.
Adhere to food safety regulations and ensure proper handling of all ingredients.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service periods.
Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items or seasonal specials.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs to management.
Help train junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.
Skills
Strong skills in food preparation, particularly with raw fish and seafood.
Knowledge of culinary techniques related to sushi-making, including rolling, slicing, and presentation.
Understanding of food safety standards and best practices in the kitchen environment.
