Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our team at Yo! Sushi inside Tesco Extra Horsham. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers while adhering to food safety standards and maintaining a clean kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity. Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and prepared according to food safety guidelines. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and timely service. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers.

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or kitchen environment. Strong understanding of food safety practices and culinary techniques. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in meal presentation. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A passion for culinary arts and a willingness to learn new techniques related to sushi preparation.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 20 per week
