Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, particularly in the preparation of sushi and Japanese cuisine. We need someone to come in early morning to prepare sushi for sale in retail units. Early start, early finish - be finished by latest 3pm!

As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for rolling sushi that delight our customers while ensuring that all food safety standards are met. Your expertise in food preparation and presentation will play a crucial role in preparing sushi for takeaway boxes.

Duties

Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, with great execution and precision. Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to strict food safety regulations. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and timely service. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies Uphold high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen.

Skills

Strong culinary skills with a focus on Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi preparation. Proficient in food preparation techniques, with an understanding of various cooking methods. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices to ensure compliance in the kitchen. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff. Creativity in meal presentation Strong organisational skills
