We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety standards. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers and enhance their dining experience.

Duties

Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Stay updated on current food trends and techniques to continually enhance menu offerings. Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests during meal preparation when appropriate.

Requirements

Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with a focus on sushi preparation and presentation. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Previous experience serving customers is an advantage but not essential.
