Try Tag Rugby is the UK's leading organiser of adult tag rugby leagues and events. Our mission is to bring people together through fun, social, and inclusive sport. Following successful growth across the UK, we are expanding in Edinburgh and are looking for enthusiastic and organised Venue Supervisors to join our team.
Role Overview
As a Venue Supervisor, you will be the main point of contact at one of our Edinburgh league venues. You'll oversee smooth league operations, ensure players enjoy a safe and welcoming environment, and help grow the tag rugby community. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about sport, enjoys working with people, and thrives in a social, energetic atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
Venue Operations:
Set up pitches, equipment, and signage prior to games; ensure everything runs on time and to schedule.
Player Support:
Welcome players, answer questions, explain rules, and provide assistance to new participants.
Match Coordination:
Brief referees, ensure fixtures are running correctly, and resolve on-field disputes when needed.
Health & Safety:
Monitor player welfare, manage first aid incidents, and ensure the venue environment is safe.
Community Building:
Create a friendly, social atmosphere by encouraging post-game socials and promoting league events.
Reporting:
Record match scores, player attendance, and provide feedback to the Regional Manager.
Skills & Experience
Strong organisational and leadership skills.
Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and fair under pressure.
Interest in rugby, sport, or community-based activities (previous refereeing/coaching experience is a plus).
Reliable and responsible, with good problem-solving skills.
First aid training desirable (training can be provided).
Hours & Pay
Part-time evening work (typically 1-2 weeknights per week, 2-4 hours per shift).
Additional weekend shifts may be available for events and tournaments.
Competitive hourly pay, with progression opportunities to referee training, event management, and regional roles.
