We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. Responsibilities

Assist in meal preparation by chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager. Support the cooking team with various tasks including cooking, plating, and serving food to ensure timely delivery of meals. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is prepared and stored correctly to prevent contamination. Participate in stock management by helping to receive deliveries and store food items properly. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service periods. Assist in catering events as required, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standard.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided. Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards is highly desirable. Experience in meal preparation or cooking within a restaurant or catering setting would be advantageous. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field. Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
