27.5 per week, term time only

17,807.75 (FTE 28,142)

Fixed Term - supporting a Year 3 pupil until they leave Hunningley Primary Academy




About the Role:





We are seeking a dedicated

Teaching Assistant

to join our inclusive team and provide tailored support for a pupil who has vision and hearing impairment. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a child's learning journey and help them to continue to thrive in a mainstream setting.



You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external specialists to ensure the pupil can access the curriculum, develop independence, and feel fully included in school life. Training and ongoing support will be provided, including specialist input from Barnsley Vision and Hearing Support Services.





What we're looking for:




Qualifications:

+ Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
+ Specialist knowledge in Visual Impairment

Experience:

+ Supporting children with additional needs in a school setting
+ Fully competent with braille and assistive technology

Skills & Attributes:

+ Patience, empathy, and excellent communication
+ Ability to adapt resources and learning activities
+ Commitment to safeguarding and promoting inclusion
+ Proactive, flexible, and resilient
+ Enjoy working as part of a team in a fast paced school with the highest expectations.
