An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Contracts Manager to join our Engineering & Supply team. This is a key role which ensures that RNLI assets are procured, refitted and repaired efficiently and effectively. The role offers exposure to a broad range of lifeboats, launch and recovery equipment, contractors, and technical and commercial risk management.

About the role

You will be responsible for creating contracts and supporting contractors with technical information, advice and expertise where required. You will obtain specifications and define work requirements for new construction, refit and repair projects to enable contractors to provide accurate quotations and deliver work without delays. You will liaise with and obtain associated information from Design Engineers and/or Technical Surveyors as required.

About you

Preferably, you will have a strong engineering background with experience in the marine industry and of project management. You will be capable of understanding complex packages of technical information and of creating contracts for the delivery of associated requirements. You will be capable of working closely with other members of a team and with stakeholders to understand and define our customers\xe2\x80\x99 requirements.

You will be a skilled contracts manager; confident and competent in negotiating contracts. Your combination of commercial and technical knowledge and ability to plan and organise work will allow you to help to deliver a first class service to our life-saving services.

This role is based at our Lifeboat Support Centre in Poole but allows for a mix of working from home and from the office which can be tailored to suit the individual. The role will involve occasional travel within the UK and Ireland.
