Are you highly organised, tech-savvy, and looking for a meaningful role in a growing family business and environmentally-focused industry? We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Operations Assistant to join the team at our WEEE / Electronic Recycling facility in Bridgnorth.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out day-to-day administration tasks supporting recycling operations
Book and manage inbound/outbound loads
Liaise with clients and processing partners in a professional manner
Create and manage legislative paperwork in line with industry standards
Data input of IT assets arriving at site
Storage and organisation of stock
Troubleshoot basic hardware issues on incoming IT assets (e.g. non-booting laptops, damaged ports, missing components)
Reinstall operating systems (e.g. Windows) and set up machines to a standard build specification
Operate and monitor Blancco and other data erasure tools, ensuring compliance with data destruction protocols
Conduct basic diagnostics and testing of IT equipment to assess functionality and resale potential
Maintain accurate asset tracking using barcodes, serial numbers, and internal inventory systems
Help identify and escalate unusual or high-value IT equipment for separate processing
Assist in improving and streamlining internal processes. Think automation, Asset Managment systems, labelling, reporting, etc.
Take initiative to research new hardware handling, secure data processing, and resale preparation techniques
Take initiative to solve workflow bottlenecks and reduce admin pressures on senior staff
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, isn't afraid to proactively research a fix, and can think on their feet in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
Qualifications / Experience:
Previous experience in an administrative role (Minimum 3 years)
A keen interest and basic understanding of computers, electronics, or electronic hardware
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Proficient in using common office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
Full training on all internal and external systems will be provided
