Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. This role is vital in maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to contribute to a high standard of service within our restaurant or hotel setting. Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Duties

Responsible for cleaning dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met. Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision to support chefs and kitchen staff. Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift. Organising and storing crockery and cutlery efficiently after cleaning. Supporting the team during busy service periods by ensuring all necessary kitchen items are available and ready for use. Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times to promote a safe working environment. Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in line with company policies.

Skills

Experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not mandatory. Knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and safety procedures. Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Good organisational skills with attention to detail. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks such as lifting and moving items safely. Flexibility to adapt to varying shifts and busy periods within the hospitality sector.
