Title: Marketing Assistant (Maternity Cover)



Responsible to: Marketing Lead (Interim) and Operations Manager

Working hours: Full time (42.5 hours a week.) This is a 9-month temporary contract (Jan-Sep 26) starting on Monday 5th January 2026. Typical hours are 9am - 5:30pm but some weekend and evening work may be required during busy periods. Applicants must be able to travel to Weymouth every day.

Primary Purpose:



We are seeking an organised and proactive Marketing Assistant to support our Interim Marketing Lead during the Marketing Manager's maternity leave. The role involves assisting with marketing campaigns and a broad range of tasks - including social media, design work, copywriting and more - with a central focus on increasing ticket sales, strengthening our community message and enhancing our digital presence. The successful candidate will also be required to undertake some Box Office shifts, which may include serving at the bar, selling tickets, preparing sales reports and other front-of-house duties as needed.

Specific responsibilities:



Monitor and update our social media platforms by creating compelling content and responding to comments and messages in a timely manner Keep the website up to date by amending wording, images and writing blog posts when required Design for both digital and print media Fact-checking and proofreading content such as mailers, brochures, posters, coupons, website content and more Liaising with the show producers, press and external agencies to arrange cast interviews, press calls, external advertisements, print requests and more Work closely with other departments including Events, Finance and Box Office Maintain excellent relationships with our stakeholders Assist the Marketing Lead with creating and delivering marketing plans as required Write and circulate press releases Using Dot Digital and Spektrix, you will be responsible for the creation and distribution of our mailing lists and E-Shots (training of these platforms will be provided) Box Office duties include dealing with enquiries by telephone and in person regarding seat availability and performance information, as well as issuing company ticket requests, ticket sales reports, reservations and more Assisting with print stock, this may also involve designing and ordering print for the cinema Handling complex queries with professionalism, ensuring all enquiries are resolved promptly, accurately and in line with company policies

Essential:



College diploma, A-levels in a relevant field or work experience within the marketing industry Confident on the phone Excellent written literacy and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail Structured and reliable Some basic design and image repurposing experience using the Adobe Suite, Canva or similar Strong IT literacy skills, including Microsoft Office Some knowledge and understanding of web standards and trends This can be a fast-paced role. The awarded candidate must be able to multitask and adhere to deadlines

Desirable:



Some experience using the Facebook Meta Business Suite, especially sponsored ads and Pixel Some video editing knowledge Knowledge of CRM platforms, especially Dot Digital and Spektrix CMS platforms, ideally WordPress
The salary is dependent on experience and to be discussed at interview.
